Nashville Family Photographer + Videography

Beautiful, candid photos and film that capture life and tell your family’s story.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY

Real life. Real moments. No posing, no pressure, just your family being exactly who you are.

Your toddler’s toys all over the floor, your little one running down the hallway with total abandon as you hope the baby sleeps through their afternoon nap. That’s the season you’re in right now. It’s hectic and crazy, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.

The time you spend with your kids? There’s nothing in the world like it. But these days are a tiny fraction of life. It may not feel like it now, but it flies by faster than you could ever imagine.

When I come into a family’s space, I’m noticing all the details you’re too busy living. The way Dad absentmindedly kisses the top of his child’s head while reading the mail, or how your 7-year-old still holds your hand.

Recent Family Stories

The ordinary Tuesday afternoon that, someday, you would give anything to live again? The specific laugh your youngest has right now … the one that might be different by next year?

That’s what I capture for families, in photos and video.

Even your husband will love this because it’s not a photoshoot in the way you’ve come to know them.

My style is natural and candid, meaning your family is free to simply be themselves. As a mom myself, I know what it’s like to have dishes in the sink and kids crying and no time to get dressed up.

Your family is simply free to be themselves, as they would be on any other day. I take care of the rest.

It’s not just about getting obligatory family photos you post once and immediately forget about. When the kids aren’t so little anymore, you’ll always have this slice of life photographed and filmed.

You're in the middle of something really beautiful. Let's make sure you don't lose it.

Documentary-style family photography is an important way to capture real life as you're living it, but a family video has an even deeper impact.

What is a family film? Just your real life, held carefully, and handed back to you.

You already know time is moving fast. You feel it when you look at photos from two years ago and can barely remember that version of your kid.

When your family’s story is captured with sound and movement, you get to remember something sweet your three-year-old said, your child’s delicate giggle, the way they run, play, and experience their childhood.

We think we’re capturing our daily life because we have our phones in our hands all day. But decades from now, we’ll feel the regret of prioritizing fall family photos over the natural, unposed moments that capture life as it was back then.

A family film with me means those moments don't disappear. They become something you actually watch.

Each year looks different. The kids are bigger. The house has changed. Someone new has joined the family. Every single time, there's something worth holding onto.

A man sitting on a bed with two young children, one resting on his lap and the other lying down beneath him. The room has a window and a dresser in the background, and the scene is in black and white.
A family gathered around a campfire outdoors, with a man playing guitar, a woman holding a young child, and a young boy sitting on a chair, enjoying the evening.
A woman and a small child with curly hair and dark skin are standing on a kitchen floor, holding hands. The woman is wearing a patterned skirt, a sleeveless top, and has tattoos and accessories. The child is shirtless, wearing shorts, and is standing on one foot with the other foot on tiptoe.
A young child with blonde hair and blue glasses smiling and being held by an adult. The scene appears to be indoors, near a table with some bottles or jars visible in the background.
A man is kneeling on the grass, hugging two young children outdoors. One child is embracing him with arms around his neck, and the other is leaning into his side. All are in casual clothing, and the background shows a house with a patio and a fenced yard with empty chairs and trees.

Testimonials

My clients come back every year.

Not because I ask them to. Because they watched their film back, felt the weight of what they almost didn't capture, and decided they never wanted to miss a season again.

“Jennie has now captured five films for us, and we have another one booked. Each one has captured a completely different season of life, and they all hold such a massive place in my heart. I can’t even explain the gratitude I feel knowing I can pass these down to my kids one day. My phone is filled with thousands of videos that just sit there, beautiful moments stored in the cloud. But those clips don’t tell our story as a whole for the season of life we were in each year. And since I’m the one mostly filming, I’m hardly ever in any of them. These films changed that.”

- Sadiee

“I had every reason NOT to schedule a film. I was newly postpartum (so crazy tired and really not feeling great in my body). We had four kids under five which was just chaotic all the time. There was no time for me to clean up or plan any special activities or even pick out special outfits. Something inside of me said to go for it anyway. Somehow, she managed to be nearly invisible and we were all able to relax and just be ourselves (which is a near miracle). Jennie captured all the sweetest moments like the cute littles faces and phrases that have already been outgrown. If I won the lottery, I’d want a family film every month for the entirety of my kids’ childhoods. The moments we think we will remember forever can pass so quickly, but these videos are the sweetest time capsules, preserving our family in that exact season!”

“Jennie did a family film for us a couple years ago and it is an absolute treasure for us. There is something so special about capturing the giggles and everyday life of the family. I can't wait to have her do another one. She truly makes the process effortless and comfortable.”

FAMILY PHOTOS AND FILMS THAT CAPTURE LIFE.

Real life. Real moments. No posing, no pressure,

just your family being exactly who you are.

After working with so many families, I’ve created an approach that ensures this will be the

most fun, effortless photo session you’ve ever had.

  • No stressing about outfits, cooperation, or poses.

Your family’s story can’t be told in a studio. It unfolds in the everyday beauty of your home, your favorite trail, your grandma’s backyard. Your session will take place where you feel most relaxed and at home with your family.

I’ll  guide you just enough that you feel completely comfortable just being with your family without posing. I’ll capture your family in an authentic way that allows you to be present for those precious moments.

  • Your husband will love this (even if he hates typical family photoshoots).

There’s no ‘okay, everyone look at the camera.’ No wrangling the kids or nagging him to tuck in his shirt. Most of the time, you’ll forget I’m even there. At the end of the session, he’ll take a deep breath and say how easy it was.

"My husband actually enjoyed taking these photos … which is really saying a lot." - Sarah.

  • The goal of this session is to have fun as a family and get lifelong memories.

This is the ultimate, relaxed session where the focus is on real life and memories you want to watch again and again. It’s the way you’ll want to remember your family in years to come.

I’ll capture the funny things your child says, the laughs you share together, and everything in between.

“I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Jennie! She made our session feel so easy and natural. I had very high expectations going into this process, and Jennie exceeded them all. Our video is something I will forever cherish. The ability to look back on this time in our lives is something I will forever be grateful for. I cry every time I watch our film!”

Destination Family Films

Whether you’re in Nashville or another part of the world, I’ll come to you wherever you are (or you can come to Nashville!). I offer destination family filmmaking for families who want something more personal than a photoshoot. Travel sessions are limited and require advance booking. Travel and lodging costs will be included in your custom quote.

Your kids don’t care if you haven’t lost the baby weight, or if the house isn’t ready for guests.

What matters is the memories they’ll have, and the knowledge that as their parent, you made time for the things that matter most in life.

Think of all the video clips you have on your phone that you haven’t done anything with. Your daughter at two, running across the kitchen in her socks. Your son’s first real belly laugh.

How many of them are lost to the cloud, never to be opened again? Hidden somewhere in the 47,042 screenshots you haven’t cleared out?

This is the ultimate, relaxed session where the focus is on real life and memories you want to watch again and again. It’s the way you’ll want to remember your family in years to come.
