Finding a good Midwife is one of the most important parts of having a home birth (obviously). In our modern society, we not only have a lot of options, but also know more of what we might need in a midwifery practice.
I wanted to go over the best Midwives in the Nashville and surrounding areas.
My criteria of what makes Midwives top tier:
They provide true informed consent. True informed consent means that they won’t force you into a procedure but will give you all the pros and cons bluntly and let you make your own decision. The information given will be research backed as well.
They have some level of letting you birth, they aren’t intervention heavy. But also won’t be so hands off that they put you and baby at risk either.
Their bedside manner. How supportive and loving they are in the birth space.
The Best Midwives in Nashville and surrounding areas:
Taylore Estep. I have had many talks with Taylore and been in the birth space with her. She is extremely supportive, very loving. She has a strong passion for women’s ability to birth with low intervention. She gives true informed consent. She is also highly trained for breech and twins. She has an extensive knowledge of metabolic health and nutrition helping moms have the healthiest pregnancies. She will let you birth independently and won’t be too invasive.
Shannon Smajda. Shannon is warm and kind. She is very supportive and also will give you the tough love you need sometimes. She is highly trained for twins and breech. She, like Taylore, is very knowledgeable on metabolic health and nutrition. She is well known for keeping twins in until 40 weeks. She will let you birth independently and won’t be too invasive.
Wild Fig Birth.I have had one birth with Maggie from Wild Fig and I absolutely fell in love with her. She is funny, kind, warm, supportive. She is really smart and just so joyful. She is very relaxed in the birth space. She will let you birth independently and won’t be too invasive.
Haven Birth and Wellness. I have had the most births with this midwifery practice. They are all amazing, with lots of experience. They are all beautiful souls who will support mothers well in labor and delivery. They are all Christian and I always hear audible praying at births with them. They are Certified Nurse Midwives.
Lily Birth Collective. Lily is amazing, I have had 2 births with them and they are just amazing humans who love their mothers so well. They will exhaust all options before transferring. They will be as hands off as safely possible.
