Oh.MY.Gosh! I have TWO kids!
As many of you know, I have been on maternity leave. I have enjoyed every second, even the hard ones!
Everyone says its so hard having two, etc. yadayadayada. Like everything else, its not why you think it would be hard – two to care for, twice the work etc. I guess I was ready for that.
What I was not ready for was the guilt of having a 3 year old feel 2nd place in your heart and having to work CONSTANTLY to make him feel just as loved as he did before baby #2 came. Dont get me wrong, he did fantastic. Loved his brother from the beginning. Never really acted out, rather he expressed his emotions verbally. “I don’t want to share mommy” or “I am sad” – I think this was harder to deal with.
All that is in the past and we are flourishing as a family of four. We love our Greyson to pieces and watching Atticus take on his new role has been so fun. His third birthday is in 10 days! Gah! Emotional to say the least
As for newborn photos, since I had a c-section, I had Melissa Wells from Birmingham, Alabama (a very dear friend) come to photograph Greyson. We really had planned this for months, but instead of her helping me, I just had her do a normal session. My son, of all newborns, was DIFFICULT. he was clenchy and a terrible sleeper for her. I, cried my eyes out, and spent SEVERAL days photographing him on my own. Melissa was very successful despite my challenging boy. Here is a sneak of what I photographed. I cannot post Melissa’s because I dont have her watermark.
P.S. notice the new wood floor! LOVE it!
